AdWords may seem like a mystery for some, so we have compiled a list of FAQs from beginner level to expert level. Have a read below, and let us know if you have questions you want to get answered too.

FOR BEGINNERS

What is Google AdWords?
Google AdWords is a tool we use to help our clients get qualified traffic into their website. You can either have a search ad that pops up on Google Search when someone searches for keywords, or you can do a display banner ad where you show image banner ads across other people's websites. In addition, you can also have Youtube video ads, or shopping ads that list your products on Google.
What are the costs?
AdWords search ad work by a system called "Pay Per Click" where you pay Google a fee when someone clicks into your website through search. The fee can vary according to industry, sometimes as little as 10 cents, up to $15 per click.

AdWords display ad work by a system called "Pay Per Impression", and you pay Google for the number of times your ad has been displayed and seen by users.

All agencies would charge a monthly management fee to manage and optimise your campaign so you aren't wasting your AdWords money with redundant clicks.
How long Does it take to get found online?
Setting up the campaign can sometimes take days. But once we press the start button and launch your campaign, your ad will be available in less than one hour.
How many keywords can I target for my search campaign
You can target unlimited keywords. And we recommend targeting as many keywords as possible if they are all relevant to your business.
How do I find the right agency to manage my campaign?
Here is the golden rule - look for the right person not the right agency. At the end, it's the person managing your campaign that delivers the result. A large company does not mean you will get great result, mainly because they have great sales people who knows little about AdWords. Once you sign up, you have no idea on who's going to be managing your campaign, perhaps you might get an intern if you are unlucky. Find a knowledgeable Google Partner consultant who you can trust, instead of a non-certified salesperson.

Always ask yourself this question - "Who is managing the campaign?"

FOR EXPERTS

Why do some of my competitors get bigger looking ads?
In 2016, Google has introduced "Expanded Text Ad" to make your ad headlines look bigger. You should definitely upgrade your ad too to get a more prominent search ad. You can also have a larger add by adding relevant extensions.
How do i get a better ranking for my search ad?
Don't just bid higher for a better ranking, try and improve the quality score of your keyword instead. You can improve your quality score by giving users a better experience such as - make your ad / keywords more relevant, have targeted landing pages for your ads, decrease load time for your landing pages etc,

Remember to always optimise for users first, then optimise bidding after.
Do i get a better natural ranking if I do AdWords
The straight up answer is NO. Google makes it very clear that paying for ad's don't boost your organic / natural ranking.
How can I get more insights into my performance
Google AdWords gives you a pretty awesome dashboard, but if you decide to take your analytical skills to the next level, we recommend using Google Analytics. You can sync up your Analytics with AdWords, they work perfectly like an 80 year old couple.
